Leading Someone On
At least you were told straight on. Do you know what it feels like to be lead on? Becoming so entrapped in a lie and believing it firmly for a whole year, watching as it goes on toward summer and still believing in it, and finally, finally the time comes, and you see that what you thought was so, wasn’t. Do you know how much that hurts? To be seen as a fool by people you thought you knew, to have your past thoughts thrown in your face, to hear their laughter, to feel the stinging shards of shame, anger, and worthlessness, to see the error of your ways, all the while feeling betrayed. I may be a bad person, then again, I may be a good one as well, but out of all my wrongs, never have I done that, especially not to those extremes.
