To Sleep, Perchance To Dream
I dreamt of you again. I guess there’s much to be said of subconscious desires making themselves known by way of dreams. Can you find it wrong of me to never want to wake; knowing that I can never fully have you hurts me so. However, I know that when I dream you’ll be mine, my own. I never seem to want to wake, to leave you; I always want to dream, knowing you’ll be with me.
Let me never wake if this is all just a dream, let me never sleep if this is all too real. To want but not be able to have is something I know all too well—to look but not touch, to see but not watch, to hear but not listen—and I think I want you all the more for it, because there’s also much to be said about the forbidden fruit.
Thrice I have dreamt of you; however, I know I can never have you — to want but not be able to have is such an infinitely, terrible fate.
